Analysis of Al2O3-ZrO2 ceramic insert in turning process of Ti-6Al-4V alloy using grey Taguchi-based response surface methodology (GT-RSM)

The present investigation aimed at a sustainable green turning operation of Ti-6Al-4V alloy using multi-objective optimization surface roughness, tool flank wear, material removal rate, and wear loss with cutting speed, feed depth cut as input parameters. experiments were performed on CNC lathe machine an alumina-zirconia (Al2O3-ZrO2) ceramic insert under dry machining environment. to examine the influence parameters three levels their interactions output responses. experiment trials designed according Taguchi’s L25 orthogonal array. A hybrid approach grey Taguchi-based response methodology (GT-RSM) was exposed for estimating optimal integration weights characteristics assigned by analytical hierarchy process (AHP). According ANOVA, speed most influencing factor in relation grade (GRG) succeeded rate. optimized settings improved 10.31%, 6.51%, 7.69% respectively 2.21% decrease result indicated that GT-RSM provided excellent database effective enhance quality
